Re Forlan - I would not be jealous. Struggled at a better side than Spurs are now when he was much younger and faster at Man United, when they were a really great side and created loads of chances. He is now 32, the premier league has got faster, and although wiser and a better player, 120k a week or so on a 3 year deal at 10-12 million fee, it is a bloody expensive gamble.

Radio 3 is very frustrating too. Soprano Elizabeth Watts and pianist Roger Vignoles are performing a programme of English music, including songs by Henry Purcell and Benjamin Britten. No mention of Andy Carroll *at all*

Given would be a brilliant signing. Solid, reliable and well proven top class keeper. All keepers have faults, but Given is one of the most consistent and can be for 3-4 more years yet, being a good replacement for Big Brad. With keepers it is always best to have a solid one than a fancy one!
