Birmingham are confident of completing the loan signing of former Newcastle striker Obafemi Martins before the transfer window closes tonight.

Previously it had been thought that the move might effect his pension payments, but that has been smoothed out by the Nigerian authorities.

The Rubin Kazan player flew into England yesterday to finalise terms - with a view to a permanent move to St. Andrew's in the summer - before undergoing a medical today, which will entail shuffling around the treatment table at least twice on his Zimmer frame.

I've just been Liverpool fan baiting on f365. If anyone else is signed up over there pop i and post a comment on the transfer gossip page. Serously hope Messers 'Oullier and Lerner are sincere when they say that Young is staying, will be disappointed after clear statements of "Not for Sale" have been made.
