If Samba comes in then A N Other CB is on there way, even if it's in the summer.

Dunne would be my guess.

Konchesky joins forest on loan- opening the way for warnock?

Very much so I would have thought.

I really can't see why we are after Samba. He scores a few goals but is he really that good? Certainly no better than what we have at the moment. I'm not sure we really need a centre back but if we did then I think it should be a quick one; we have two no frills defenders in collins and dunne (and cuellar to an extent) and a ball playing one in clark but non of them are hugely quick so if GH wants variety thats where we lack it. Samba seems just a pointless move.
I think an attacking LB (ala Walker), preferably a young one is in order, although I am surprised we haven't been at least linked Taiwo, a creative midfielder in the mould of Modric or Fabregas. We need someone, not who necessarily plays in the hole (although hopefully next season Ireland might have his head screwed on to a degree to offer that option) but a player who is comfortable in playing in a two or three man midfield but offers something going forward. I think Bannan has the potential to offer something of that ilk in the future but these are the players that make teams tick and its too early to rely that heavily on him. I also think we should off Spuds 4mill plus ad-ons up to around 7mill for Walker and get that sealed before hes picked for the England squad next week.

"Update from The Ricoh Arena is that Kieren Westwood has agreed to stay with Coventry City for the rest of the season."

According to someone on BBC via Twitter

If he's keen to stay there maybe even offer them £1m for him, and then loan him straight back for the rest of the season.
Why when he is a free agent in the summer? listed to the blues cov commentary on the way home from the villa, he didnt play very well by all accounts.

Just saw that on the SSN ticker.  Nothing more than Sky trying to drum up a business for their betting site.  He isn't for sale.

Westwood may be on a free in the summer, but that's not much good to us if someone stumps up a million and signs him today.

Mancini says if he does bring in anyone it will be a winger now that Johnson is out for months.

SSN-sources from City saying they are after a winger as cover for Adam Johnson

Well that makes sense, what with City's paucity of wingers.

I'd take Milner in a straight swap.

We miss him badly in the centre.

I don't think Young will be wanting to play as cover!

I wish the window shut at 5pm
