I've thought long and hard about this but can't cope with Situ's, hard fought, man about town, 8 out of 10, womanising, Simpsons eating, Lego building, arse slapping, toe cracking ways.

Consider me a lesser mortal. I shall go back to work and leave my superiors to the important stuff.

Bi-atch-es!

I thought The Telegraph reporting that they'd made a bid yesterday was worth posting. Why the fuck would I want it to happen?

Because it's the perfect opportunity for you to go on one of your tiresome, predictable "the chairman doesn't want to spend" rants, after the inconvenience of us smashing our transfer record the other week, that's why.

After all, you'd managed to go all of 3 hours since the last time you posted a "Young is moving" story.

Have you any of you cynics and doubters thought that it's quite possible that old Situation's being rather modest by claiming that his lunch date was only an 8/10? I imagine that they were at least a 9, if not higher, and that by claiming 8 he wouldn't be making us feel too inadequate. I feel humbled just to be in the presence of such a demi-God. And a Villa fan to boot.

My wife is a genuine ten whereas I am 5 at best. Fortunately a couple of bob and a large todger fixed that difference!

I bet Situ is hung like Linford Christie, as rich as Donald Trump and as good looking as Brad Pitt!

I'm not inconvenienced by us signing Bent and I wouldn't want us to sell our best player in order to have an argument on a internet forum. That's a pretty warped view of things you have there. I just happen to have a different opinion to you about how some things are being done at the club.

What happened was I posted 3 hours ago that I thought the Torres to Chelsea saga would result in lots of Young to Liverpool side stories. I didn't expect to read that Liverpool had made a bid yesterday, so I also posted that as news on the transfer thread.

If they offered 20 plus million for Young with 18 months on his contract I am sure we would sell. It would be mad not too, especially given the indications that he won't be signing a new one.

RE Gareth Bale. This time last season he had not scored a hatrick against the European Cup holders in the San Siro, while also being one of the most consistent attacking threats to top sides in the champions league and premiership. He is not worth 40 million and I would sell were I Spurs at that, and I think they will as their Chairman is good at selling at the right time, but he has earned the reputation as one of the rising stars of world football.

Unlikely to be £20+ million.

At a guess I'd say £18 million tops and -if the part about them bidding £12 million is true- £6 million extra as a trade off for a weakened squad doesn't appeal. We've improved in recent matches but we're by no means out of the woods yet.

Leave it until the summer, even if it means less. It will give us a chance to source a replacement in decent time, at a time that suits us rather than the bindippers. There's nothing that should make Ash want to break his neck to get up there this season. They're out of both domestic cups, probably won't be anywhere near 4th and he's cup tied for the UEFA.

There's every chance Dalglish might not be around next season either, and a new manager could have his own preferences.  If he leaves it until the summer and still wants out, I'd wager there will be better options than Liverpool anyroad.

The bin dippers are really staring to annoy me now. They are not owned by Arabs or the Russian mafia so cannot offer the seriously stupid money that those two clubs might offer. Eighteen million is not enough tell em to make it thirty and we just may be interested. Why would we sell one of our top players when things are just starting to come together.

Please today of all days can we get back to transfer news.

Looking at kendricks page he says he's sure there is no defender coming in today and ian Taylor is wrong, also the Ireland deal has no buy in the summer clause, villa want him back to make a fresh start in the summer apparently, the warnock loan to Liverpool is on.

I see nothing in this young to Liverpool story today- why would he want to go to a club with a caretaker manager, and about to lose their star player- surely he is enjoying his new role at villa and would be better to wait until the summer when there would probably be bigger fish than Liverpool after him.

The Guardian says that Lerner told W Henry that we have no intention of selling Young in this transfer window. Let that be the end of it, please.

Was that a major, and I mean major, world exclusive for them?

Personally, I think Bale's transformation from shit left back to excellent left winger is the thing that made Spurs from also rans into top four contenders. Moreover, any old fool could tell you a left back who attacks well but doesn't defend well might be best sampled on the left wing. That coupled with a shit Liverpool gave them 4th place.

I think that's a little harsh on the introduction and success of Van Der Vaart and the growth of Modric in the league. I think they're a little more than solely reliant on Bale.
