Are we to assume that both NRC and Stan will be leaving this summer?

Sunderland have signed Muntari and Sessegnon - two decent signings

Alan Green suggested on 5 live today that Liverpool should only sell Torres if Anelka was included in the deal, which isnt
a bad idea

Bradley? What have I missed?
Sky reported earlier today that we were close to signing Michael Bradley (Bob's son) on loan until the end of the season from a German club - nothing on the BBC though

NRC yes, but I hadn't considered that about Stan, and you may well have a point. Much as I'm a fan of his, you have to look at Wenger selling Vieira and Henry and say, well, every player has their time to go, and often managers know this before the rest of us do.

There would be a case for petrov to stay next season but I think he would have to accept it would be as a squad player and his days as a regular starter will probably be over- Bradley is still only 23 I believe and if he impresses on loan and signs in the summer our midfield would have a good mixture of a bit of everything.

It could well be houllier just needs 2 or 3 in the summer rather than major changes as we have done an awful lot of good work in this window.

Well I believe that Ash is gone this summer - and, to be honest, he's so little a team player these days that this could be a blessing in disguise - so we may see a fair amount of restructuring from that. However, we must not forget that some of our players can be replaced internally, the quality of the youth is that strong, so it will be very interesting to see which direction the club goes in.

Ash seems to be enjoying his football and seeing some of signings we are making may well yet be tempted to stay on - it's of course a strong possibility he will go but the grass isn't always greener as milner is finding out- we still have a chance of keeping ash and what happens between now and may could have a big impact in his decision.

Well, if Ash is enjoying his football I can't say the feeling's altogether mutual. He's been frustration personified for me this season. He's always looking for the killer ball and gives it away needlessly so often, which I think it's a product of his switch to the centre. On the wing, when the ball gets to you it's generally in the final phase of the attack, and your job is to produce the final cross or ball to make the chance. In the centre you often have to judge when to start moves and when to finish them, but Ash is looking to finish them all the time like he would on the wing. I don't think he can get out of that 'final-ball' mentality, and it's very frustrating to watch.

Add another winger to my shopping list then. I'd back Downing and Albrighton to pick up the slack from his departure so the guy doesn't need to be a direct first choice. Indeed the creative forward I also want can fill that role in 'the hole'.

From what I saw and heard about today our set piece delivery from Bazza B and Uncle Bob was excellent. A refreshing change from Ash and Downing's.

Bradley's sick.

Watched him many times. He can pick a pass and he loves a tackle or two. Really good loan signing.

Highly underrated.

Sign Larsson on a free as a 3rd option for Downing and Albrighton and get Adam as a ball player through the middle, then Ash going might be covered quite effectively. We could do with a 26 year old Pires.

Adam is no longer a target.

I think in a years time Gary Gardner will very much be a big player in our team and if Bradley comes in and succeeds I wouldn't bother with Adam.

In  the summer keeper and left back will be priorities , and we need to see whether Bradley, ash and walker are here next season or not- if not they will need replacing but I'd like to see all 3 still here.

Same.

We've got so many quality options in our midfield and attack... Houllier will have a pleasant decision to make on team selections whereas with O'Neill we didn't really have any man-for-man quality back-ups - now we've got quality in depth. Makoun, Delph, Coker, Bradley, Petrov, Bannan... so many great options to choose from now; likewise up front.
