Never said he'll keep them up single-handedly. Although people will be going into destruction-mode if he puts in great performances for them and they're well clear of 17th spot coming the final game of the season.

I'll bet that it won't be bacuse of Davies that they stay up. I'll keep my eye on the match reports and will bet that he won't get an average of more than 7/10.

And, in all seriousness, this is the issue I have with Davies (or maybe more accurately MON?). He's ok. Average. Prone to the semi-regular howler. He was not, isn't nor never will be worth the sums paid by Villa for him. And it certainly didn't help that he was giving it the big one as soon as O'Neill fucked off, instead of trying to knuckle down and earn a spot through good performances. 3 different managers didn't rate him here, so I think that speaks volumes.
