Can you stop making out if I'm saying what you're saying? Thanks

Dunne's only proven that for what, the last... 2 or 3 games? After falling out with the manager too lets not forget.

Some people clearly have forgotton how good Davies was and it just suits them to blame him for why we lost against Rapid Vienna whilst completely ignoring all the Collins and Davies fuck ups and just remembering them for there 'last ditch' blocks.

Would be interesting to find out how many people on here have played football at a high level. No doubt the people claiming Davies is 'shit' without mentioning why he's shit are the people who didn't even get picked for there primary school's u10's B Team and gave up on playing ever since.

Not saying he's shit, just that he's not good enough for the top level. That doesn't mean I'm saying I am, either (though I am available for trial if you're reading, Ged). And I'm not saying he's not good enough because of his lack of last-ditch blocks, because actually as far as I can see that's all he does because he can't read the game and makes so many errors of positioning that he has to make up for them with needless Dunkirk moments. Same applies to Collins, really, but at least Collins can ping a 40-yard ball with some accuracy (he's also guilty of aimless hoofing, but he can play those passes). Davies doesn't have any on-the-ball qualities to atone for his lack of defensive judgement. Hence, I think, he isn't good enough.

Situ, who did you used to support?

Anyone who has been following the Villa for more than 5 minutes would know that last season a Dunne/Collins defence conceded only 39 goals compared to the 54 the one with Davies let in the season before. There was a reason he was replaced; we were a soft touch at the back..

Looking at their fixtures, they have a similar run in to us, and games in hand. I reckon with or without Davies they would stay up comfortably.

That's a pretty shit argument TBF.

I've never produced, directed or starred in any films. But I know a shit one when I see one. Or one that had promise but never quite lived up to the billing.

that Rapid Vienna Incident tells you everything you need to know about Davies, he paniced like fuck in a situation where he could've simply put it out for a throw in or booted it up field, the fact he thought it'd be a good idea to do what he did just shows he has'nt got the cleverness or calmness to succeed at this level, he's a poor defender and i've got no problem with taking that lots money for him, funny how only Blues and Leicester were interested even though the price was so low

Great news. 1. Meets the Randy wages reduction criteria. 2.He will make Blose weaker. I believe we were sold a muppet by the bogeyes which we off setted and revenged with Luke Moore. He may be a nice guy etc but he isn't an England quality player, blose in the Championship would be his level.

Curtis Davies had a perfect opportunity to rebuild his career at Aston Villa post Martin O'Neill. Instead, he carried on playing as poorly as he had under MON, and justifed entirely why he was dropped in the first place. Does he have talent. Yes. We've all seen how he good he "can" be. But he's not consistent, and without a very good player next to him he cannot be relied upon to be a good defender, let alone a leader. He'll have good games for that lot, but I can assure you he'll drop several Ridgewell like clangers too. That's why he'll be a bigger asset to us at Birmingham than wearing our kit.

Davies might turn out alright, I hope he does to be honest. He seems a decent fellow. Its unfortunate he is not good enough at the moment for us and sometimes in life you need to move on to get back that spark or confidence to fulfil your abilities.  Good luck to him, lets hope he makes a few of these mistakes but only while facing us next season.

Just to point out, the defence that season with Laursen wasn't much worse in terms of goals to games than last season, but fell apart once he got injured.  That's not to say laursen carried him, but rather that the Davies/Cuellar partnership didn't work as neither is the dominant 'meet the ball' type of defender Collins and Dunne are and instead like to cover behind said defender.

I see Davies as a decent player we paid too much for and it didn't work out.  I'd like to say good luck to him, but because of where he's going I just can't.

Here's a little life lesson for you ( it's something I'm constantly telling my 4 year old lad). If someobody disagrees with you, try and deal with it without resorting to childish, silly responses.

Honestly, it dosent reflect well on you.

Reasoned debate is by far the most effective way of making a point.

Sorry if I rattled your cage and you got jealous cos' I played football at a high level and you didn't. And I'm going out to late lunches with 8/10's whilst you're clearing up your son's lego and trying to teach someone who probably is half your age (you're in your 40's? lol) an 'E-Lesson'.

I was trying to explain to someone how it's a bit silly claiming Davies is 'shit' whilst it suits them to forget how poor both Collins and Dunne have been this season until the Brum game making fuck up after fuck up.

Why are Dunne and Collins excused and given 2nd chance after 2nd chance whereas Davies is made a scapegoat for making one mistake? Why isn't Cuellar playing at CB when he's better than both Dunne and Collins?

Anyone wants to have a bet with me? If Blose go down I'll donate £10 to this site, if they stay up (whoever wants to take the bet) donates £10 to this site? Anyone in? So many are quite confident they'll go down.
