Davies isn't a bad defender on his day , but we have 4 quality centre halves already so can afford to let him leave, with dann injured he will probably play in the final for them, but when dann is fit I think Curtis will be a reserve there too.

I don't think he has ever done that much wrong, The Baggies realised what a mug MON was so thats why they inflated the fee.

He's better than anything they have there already without a doubt, Davies will be their number one CB whether Dann is fit or not.

To their credit blues have been solid with dann and Johnson in defence and conceded few goals , I wouldn't rate davies better than them personally but each to their own opinion.

What makes "no sense" is to buy an average player on high wages in a position we have several players who can play there at the same level or even better than Larsson ?? Gabby is already struggling to get on the pitch. Are you saying we should buy Larsson on the basis of having "more" squad players in one position when we do not even have one established left back

I don't think we can class Pires as a mistake by Houllier. It hasn't worked out, but he was worth a punt given that he was one of only a few players without a club at the time and it wasn't in the transfer window. His previous track record was excellent and he was only really brought as cover. And cover is exactly what he has proved to be.

My point is. We have Ash, Gabby, Downing and Albrighton already who play on the right. Why do we need a very average player on high wages sitting on the bench ?? If he was a top class left back its a straight yes .........

i think i remember he’s said some pretty shit things about the villa in the build up and aftermath of recent derby’s to the extent that I thought he hated the villa………but its upto GH he’s building the squad.

It was me, I've no idea. I just know he played there a bit for Arsenal. He was used on both sides as a fullback.
