I wonder if there really is anything genuine in this. According to reports, its Davies for £3.5m or £1.5m + Larsson, thus valuing Larsson at £2m. Well, how does that work if he was going to Newcastle for £500k and is out of contract in the summer?

I can understand Blose wanting to add a player if they have no cash, but it doesn't mean we should humour them. And if there is a deal to be done than Larsson is worth no more than a nominal fee. Certainly nothing more than half a million, if that.

I don't think Larsson is a particulary great player, but he'd look a lot better in our team with all that pace and players to put the ball back in the net. Mcleish insists Birmingham play 4-5-1 (funny how he didn't last night...) but you can't play 4-5-1 without no pace in the team that's why Larsson may not look that tempting to some Villa fans.

If a player wants out of The Blues surely it is our moral duty to save him???  Larsson would be a good squad signing, for years we have been whingeing about not having enough depth to our squad, now we are whingeing about signing cover for our squad??  Get over it, the guy has something to offer, I don't believe he will start every week but I'd rather him play than cock face Pires.

As for Davies he has already had a 'run of games' while he was on loan at Leicester, if Houllier does not believe he is good enough now, it is time to cut our losses and get him out.  If that menas he goes to the Knuckledraggers, well, I feel sorry for him but fuck it, take the money and run.  You can't blame Curtis for wanting to stay in the Premiership instead of another loan spell at Leicester and having still no guaranteed team at the end of the season.

It's a good job we didn't have that thought when building our league and European cup winning team.

Larsson is a decent player, would be a useful sqaud memeber and Davies hasn't lived up to his potential so we need to offload. We have to be hard headed about this.

We do not want "squad players" in fact we have just started the process of getting rid of them. Sidwell, Shorey, Gardner, etc. Players we now want are replacements for first team players. Bent for Carew, Makoun for Reo/Petrov. Our Squad players are our up and coming young players. Bannan, Clarke, Baker. Larsson has been valued at £5oo,ooo. How much is Clarke or Bannan worth ? Loan out Davies (not to the scum) and if he comes good, get a better price for him while he is off the wage bill ..........

Davies isn't a bad defender on his day , but we have 4 quality centre halves already so can afford to let him leave, with dann injured he will probably play in the final for them, but when dann is fit I think Curtis will be a reserve there too.
