I might be alone on this, but I've always thought Larsson to be a decent player. He's not top drawer by any stretch but he'd be a very competent player to have in the squad. Always works hard and I think he'd benefit from playing with better players around him.

I agree, can play a nice pass, cross well and works tremendously hard. On the right beyond Downing as a back up for Albrighton we are short, Ash is better left, Downing is better left, Gabby better forward. For the money, it is a good deal, and also a good deal for Davies as it means we actually get more value back due to Larsson contract. Think he would shock a few with how decent he actually is. It seems that Houllier is trying to shape his squad to make the best use of Bent's abilities in the penalty area - players who can deliver the kind of service he would thrive on. Larrson fits into that category - but would agree he doesn't have the wow factor as a player but would add something to the squad.

Larsson is nowhere near as good as Albrighton with a small percentage of the potential and talent.
He's not shit, is commited and takes a good set piece but he would be nothing more than a 4th choice winger and I question whether Bannan should play wide before he does. I'd sooner play him han Pires though but that's about it.
