The only way I can see that happening is if Houllier feels he wont get one of the vaunted French defensive midfielders and I reckon he does so he wont be making plans for Nigel.

Usually the knee, upper shin... I accept that, and often forget young Fabian. Think we will have though Petrov, Makoun, Delph, Bannan, Hogg - still a couple - a ball winner and a creator away from complete in there.

I dont mind if there isnt any more transfers. But he also said we were not going to sign anybody this week in the same week we signed Makoun and that we werent going to sign a striker when very soon after we shattered our transfer record to buy just that. So, we'll see.

Fair enough if that's our lot - 3 great signings and we are turning the corner- arsenal winning the league cup means 7 th would probably qualify for Europe, we are 3 points off that and I think with only 1 of our last 13 Games against a top 6 team we could well have a very good end to the season.

We don't need to buy anyone now (those two wins have secured our survival), may as well wait until the summer when there is more availability and cheaper deals to be had. We just need to consolodate for the rest of the seasons and try to continue to blood the youth players.
