Taraabt is a stunningly talented player, but I agree re the discipline. Too much of a luxury.

Van Bommel - probably a good thing with Makoun now on board, but think he would have done well.

Still need a creator and a left back...

Another player with the talent but not the attitude- when he's older he will sit mulling over his pint of boddingtons and wonder what might have been.

I've been told Ireland isn't that arsed about football. He's not like a Wayne rooney or a beckham that lives and breathes it and can not wait to get on the pitch.

Ireland sees it as a job, one that pays well but nothing more

I'm not surprised by that or I guess anyone else should be, who did you hear that from?

Ireland will never be a good player if he continues with a bad attitude. He's been so disappointing.

re: Honda. Meh, not sure what the rumours are like but Villa Talk are getting their knickers in a twist over him, then again Villa Talk does have 325 page threads about Spurs so that doesn't really surprise me. Pretty immature.

Honda's a very good player and he'd slot into the AM role very nicely, the problem is that he's going to be either a hit or miss signing. Can we take the chances on a player who'll £10 million and upwards? I see Liverpool are obsessed with trying to buy our players and our transfer targets at the moment.  If I had the choice I'd rather have Milner back.

I know a few folks connected to the old board of the blose. we were talking about certain players a few weeks ago. The like of bridge, old Lucas Neil, Ireland etc. And they said what we as fans have to realise is some players aren't arsed.
Some not in a bad way, they train, they do what they're supposed to. But won't be out after training working on deadballs etc or peak fitness. They know they're good atvwhat they do, can earn shed loads of money for it but aren't football fans.

Sending out Ireland and Davies on loan is a very good idea. If they do have good run for their new teams we can either decide to sell them for good money or have them back in our squad and meanwhile we get the wage off our bill.
It's a win win all around.

The OS via facebook has just told me that Jonathon Hogg has gone to Portsmouth on loan for the rest of the season, another good move for the Villa as it gives him some first team experience.

Good loan move for Hogg.

He doesn't excite me. He works hard and can put a boot in, but he's not up there with Albrighton & Clark IMO.

No doubt Hogg has gone to Pompey to replace Michael Brown, who IIRC gets a pay rise if he plays another game.

Agree with this, reckon he'll have a good career but maybe in the lower leagues

I'd send Gardner out on loan aswell, could end up like Wilshere with a decent loan spell second half the season, the next season straight into the Arsenal first team.

Yes, exactly. A good championship team chasing promotion would be ideal. QPR or Leicester.

Good to see a good slice of our players on loan at Championship clubs. If they are at that level at such a young age. Over the past two seasons there's been Baker, Bannan, Albrighton, Hogg, Weimann, Davies + Guzan (although they're there for different reasons).
