I understand what he's trying to do, but he's handled it abysmally from start to finish.

Firstly, he picked a fight with Houllier, who is always going to win that kind of thing, even if he has to fall back on a gallic shrug and sneer.

Then he started spouting about how we "used to be famous" and were "half arsed" to see us go out a few days later and spend almost 20m on a single player.

Then he went out of his way to suck up to Dalglish, only to have Liverpool promptly make an offer for the player.

Then he threw in that bizarre "I manage his career, I decide where he goes" line - not what a player who had to take the club to court earlier in the season is likely to want to hear

Then he started saying it was Comoli who made the offer, but somehow Dalglish had nothing to do with it.

Now the player has asked to leave and he's painted himself into  a corner, having managed to use up a very good chunk of the sizeable amount of goodwill he had from most football observers.

In the end, Adam leaves - which was inevitable, really - he doesn't get as much as he could have, as he's created a situation whereby three clubs want the player, and they all know there's not much point increasing their bids much, and he makes himself look like a spoilt child over it all.

Not seen this mentioned yet but Davies was poised to sign for Celtic on loan but he couldn't under FIFA regulations.

He needs to find a club in England as he cannot make a cross-border transfer to a third club this season due to his playing against Vienna.

The Svenis has intimated that Davies has said no to a permanent move there, but only to see if he can find another premiership club.  If no offer comes in he may well end up back at Leicester, whether on loan or full-time remains to be seen.

The way Leicester are going they may well get into play offs after having a dreadful start- Sven has got them going and davies could do a lot worse than go back there.

I wouldn't buy Charlie Adams as If we used midfield with Petrov / Makoun and we could use Bannan / Gardner / Delph and Reo Coker I don't think we need any more average/decent player in midfield unless we sign someone very good ie Honda (Not sure how good though)

Just buy Honda, a left back, a young goalkeeper and keep an eye open for a partner for Bent.
