I see Niko Kranjcar is looking to move from spurs. He holud do a good job on the left or in the centre. A class act who can pick a pass. I think 'arry only paid £2 million (officially) for him from portsmouth, only played 30 odd times for spurs as Bale keeping him out. I reacon we could get him for less than Adam from b'pool.

No, N'zogbia is an out and out winger, he's nowhere near as good as Downing at picking a pass in central areas.

I would.

No, Downing for the most part is doing the business for us. N'Zogbia is a good player, but what if he doesn't settle or find his form for us. He is a bit of a temperamental one supposedly. Why take the risk?

If true it could be the plan B. Maybe the idea was to have Adam sitting behind spraying balls around to Young, Downing, Bent etc, but if we are not getting him, play it solid in the middle with the two wingers and the two big men up front. It might be another way of getting the best out of Bent, whilst giving the wingers something extra to aim at. Would prefer the Adam option, but i could see merit in the Crouch idea as well. With Heskey in the squad as well, we would be covered fir injuries.

Carrick is a good player, who might not look a world beater at Man U but would be class at Villa, like he was at spurs.
