We don't need Keane.  And I don't want him either so let's hope its scollops.

From memory I don't recall the keane and bent partnership being that phenomenal - would certainly add to the glitter joke that was going about our forward line if they were named bent young and keane.

Bent and Keane never worked.

Bent has never really clicked with any strike partner (Charlton and for most of Sunderland up top on his own) apart from Kenwyne Jones whom he said was one of the best players he has ever played with. Crikey.

Apparently Gary Glitter has applied to be the new Villa manager after he heard the strikers were Young, Bent and maybe Keane.

I've heard it so many times, it makes me think we should send him back to Sunderland.

Mystery man seems to be in the know - I'd be hugely surprised if we were after another striker at the moment, has there been anything from mystery man on a left back?

Found this on the skysports website. Spurs fan talking about Hollway's valuation of Adam.

'This makes me laugh and shows how dumb fans of some clubs are, He is saying that his worth to Blackpool is £46m as thats what they will earn if he stays and keeps them up. He doesn't say thats what a club would have to pay for him. I also think its laughable that villa can bid £2.5 - 3.5m for a player of Adams quality then stump up £18m for Bent. Villa are a joke of a club.

The Metro understands that Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier is considering a bid for Arsenal’s out-of-favour Spanish goalkeeper Manuel Almunia.

Villa’s current number one Brad Friedel turns 40 in May, and is expected to hang up his gloves in the near future, leaving Houllier to look for a new number one.

33-year-old Almunia has not played for The Gunners since picking up an elbow injury during a home loss to West Brom last August. A fresh ankle injury has prompted manager Wenger to give his blessing to a potential move away from the Emirates.

Just before Christmas Houllier said a decision whether to offer veteran USA international Friedel an extension on his current contract would be made New Year as he looks for a successor between the posts.

With the spending well and truly underway at the relegation-threatened Midlands-Club, a bid for Alumina in the £3 million region could be enough to secure his services ahead of a number of other potential suitors, including Galatasaray, Sevilla and Atletico Madrid.

Were obviously rubbing a lot of clubs fans up the wrong way, they thought we were on the slide and not capable of spending so much on one player that has such a good domestic record. This shows our ambition and sends out a statement of intent.

Almunia is shit.
