I hope adam deal will be done then holloway and bruce can cry in their beer together- putting in a transfer request might force blackpools hand a bit and whatever holloway says £4m is a huge amount of cash to a club like Blackpool and would be 8 times what they paid.

So a midfield pairing of Makoun and Adam (potentially). Even if Ireland, NRC and Petrov's days are numbered are we really good enough to be giving the odd game here and there to Delph, Bannon, Hogg and Gardner and hope they're happy with that? The latter two may be for a year or two but Delph, after being out for so long will be eager to cement a regular place soon. Bananaman too. Quality squad-building is great and what every ambitious club strives for but unless you're one of the top teams, which at the moment is a moot point with us, it's difficult to build a bench full of quality.

Houllier has always been a manager who likes to rotate and keep his players fresh- I think he would vary things quite often as he did at Liverpool and Lyon- not a tinkerer like benitez and ranieri but very much a rotater similar to fergie.
