Part of the problem with the defence I feel is that they've had no-one solid in midfield protecting them. Hopefully Makoun will change that.

Has anyone else wondered why MON & RL did not swoop for Bent when he was unhappy at Spurs and save Villa £14 million? I started asking at that time and have never stopped since. Those seated near me in the Trinity are bored of hearing it.

Was it Matt Kendrick that said MON wouldn't pay over £8 million for Bent when he left spurs for £10 million?

Pienaar confimed he is off to Spurs, they won't want Young now so next bit of business after wraping up Bent deal should be new contract.

If he stays and we get silly offer for Downing then let him go! Miss his crunching tackles but never mind!
