The rumour has hit the NE about the apparent strain in the relationship between Bent and Gyan!

With Gyan, Wellbeck and Campbell close to return and the fact they are short in midfield means that they might be willing to talk.

We'll if Young goes we'll replace him as we'll have had a big offer for him and plenty of cash to spend on his replacement.

I agree, just buying Bent would be the best option unless we can give them players that we have no plans for (Ireland?). But it seems unlikely they'll just sell Bent without something they also desperately want in return. They arent struggling for money I think.
Bit if its just a case of Bent wanting out and us having the cash to buy him outright, great. Ideal.
I'm certainly not insisting on giving Downing away. Far from it.

Who said we cant afford him? Who said what the deal entails and if any cash will actually change hands?
And people are talking about there being a sniff of a chance because there is some sort of hullaballoo behind the scenes to suggest there is with trustworthy people involved and not just gobshites.
