It would have been quite amusing had Sidwell's West Ham move gone through, to find himself filling the "last 15 minutes" slot again.

No, I was not referring to Makoun. Still some work to be done to finish the deal, so I should have been more cautious. Still, if it comes off, I think most would agree that it is a good signing in a position of need.

Tantalising!

That was my first thought when hearing the news, that would have been great.

I wouldn't be surprised if he bids for Stan.

I'd be surprised if we sold our captain.

Maybe not right now, but I wouldn't be surprised as a summer move though. He's gone 30, and we're buying and bringing through midfield players. I can see Petrov and even somelike Collins/Luke Young/Dunne even being candidates.

What would be welcome in January is if he actually did want Ireland for us as part of the Milner deal as has been suggested, is to come back in for him now.

Na, I think the likes of L. Young and NRC wouldn't touch MON with a barge pole. Once bitten twice shy and all that!!

Petrov will go. If warnock doesnt sign for Liverpool in the summer he's go to Upton park. I think freidel could go there too in the summer.

What are the odds martin comes in for petrov followed closely by collins and then robbie keane?

and with a bit of luck
NRC, Warnock, Dunne, Heskey, Beye

That should bring in  18m!

Break that £18m down because NRC is a free in the summer, Warnock is damaged goods and cost £7m two years back, Dunne won't fetch more than £3m if we are lucky, GH won't get rid of Heskey and Beye we'll be lucky to get £500k for.

Real Madrid have made a move to get van nistleroy back, after the reports of benzema saying he would like to play for houllier again yesterday, and peltys comments could it be that we are after benzema ?

Mirrorsport had a very good story of how benzema was prepared to play for villa as houllier was the manager who got the best from him- people may mock but whose to say it couldn't happen ?

If we sign Benzema, I think I might have an accident in my pants.

Benzema would be a very impressive signing indeed, but it seems pretty unlikely.........doesn't it?

Thought the Benzeema move was down to whether Adeboyor moved there from city
which they would then let him come
