Smallest ground in the Prem capacity 16.000 have a half million maximum an any player purchase, all according to one of the commentators last night. If those figures are correct they will struggle to stay in the Pemiership. Three and a half million would be very attractive to their directors.

I'm with Dave, I'm just pleased to see us in for more than one player at a time. It puts more pressure on the selling club if they know you have options

Ian Holloway says he will only let his captain leave for one of the country's top clubs. He said: "I want him to go to a club which is not struggling, it's always been my goal to get him to one of the top five or six clubs."

He also added that any club who think he is "only worth £3.5million" are "wasting their time".

Will it be all down to what Holloway wants though and not the chairman or player ?

Reading between the lines, we are the only game in town and he's fishing for another bidder. He should have a word with Gary Cahill's agent

Have a look where we've finished for the last three years Holloway... Overly optimistic but with a decent run we could still finish in the top 6!

Where does Holloway get off,l first he says he will only let him go to a top club, well i don't think United,City, Chelsea or Arsenal have any interest in him at all which leaves Liverpool but they are no longer a top side. If he was offered the Villa managers job would he consider us too small for his talents? The directors will not want to miss out on the dosh.

Adam is like a poor mans Gareth Barry and a similar age.  Why not try and get Gareth Barry ?

(runs for cover)

Because wages are cheaper and he is 5 years younger. Oik is trying to push the price. Anything over 4 and the chairman will bite as they are nearly safe and he will be into last year of his deal in the summer.

I would say ultimately, it's not Holloway's decision. The player has a season left on his contract come the summer. I can't imagine Blackpool have been able to sell a player for £3.5m for quite some time.

Holloway would jump at the chance to join Villa and he would have no qualms about leaving Blackpool in the shit.

That's because it's a load of shite.  Everything Brown did/said was with an eye on getting spotted in the media.  Holloway just strikes me as refreshingly honest, and is doing a superb job at Blackpool.

The signing of a semi-retired clothes-horse is surely worth and black and yellow ticker...
