We have a quote from Randy last summer saying the wages need to come down. Beye, Carew, Sidwell and Warnock make up 10 million of that 70 million wage bill. Get them out and I think there is room for others to come in. Fees are not as important as the wage bill by the way it looks.

The numbers involved in Premier league football are big numbers.

£70m in wages is a lot of money but the average wage bill in the Premier League was £65m.

£10m for Beye, Carew, Sidwell and Warnock is a lot of money but we allocated more than £10m in Management Fees and Debt Interest payments to Reform Acquisitions Limited. 

It's all relative.

I spy with my little eye a not very subtle "Randy's taking money out of the club" argument.

I was simply contrasting our £70m staff costs with the PL average of £65m and the £10m player costs with the £10m+ interest and management fee costs charged by RAL.

People are a cross between Pike and the old guy who exclaimed we're duuuuuoommeeed on Dad's Army all the time. There appears to be some keeping their heads, but far too many are running about like the world will end.

We will sign players, of that I am sure. Randy has done nothing if not have a track record that should allay fears at a time like this, he is not stupid and won't have invested so much to see it go down the pan for the sake of 20 million now.

I still CANNOT believe we're being tight pricks regarding Makoun's price. It's £1 million extra Lyon want, we're prepared to pay £6 million, is paying another million really going to put us into doom and gloom? Wind your fucking neck in Houllier and just stop being so immature. Why are you bidding for both Adam and Makoun? Do you realise how much of a joke you're gonna look like if you don't sign either one?
