Think I'll wait until I see it somewhere other than The Daily Star before I accept this as 100% gospel.

He was on his mobile 90% of the time, and looked a really pissed off James Collins, so no, I left him to himself.

Maybe he had just been told that he was staying?

Adam is a no risk signing, relatively low wages and in this day and age a very cheap fee.

If we signed him for £4m, it didn't work out and we wanted to shift him on, we'd get most of that back.

Sorry but all those bigging Bannon up will be disapointed, he is a talent no doubt but just his size will find him out in  the prem. Far to easily knocked of the ball, two stone heavier and five inches taller and he woul.d be great.

just like juninho and zola? dont talk rubbish man, players adapt their game to suit their physical stature...

The risk comes when he hits the pitch not the fecking balance sheet. When did we become an asset management company?

He may be on them now, but wait until his agent starts negotiating knowing what some of our players are on - we'll do well to keep it to £40k a week.

Why are so many people worried about Charlie adam's wages etc, I'm sure the club will negotiate the best deal affordable having been stung in the past - the main thing is we get players in who help get results on the pitch- I worry about results and let the owner worry about the wages.

You've just quoted the example of two absolutely exceptional players.

The fact is, a small player is going to have be be a lot better to make it than an average sized one. It's like when people say "look at Iniesta, he's hardly a giant", which is true, but he's also one of the best players in the world.

Small players survived in the 70s when the game was far more physical than today so I'm sure bannan could cut it at this level- the likes of giles, Callaghan, bremner, ball spring to mind- if bannan is good enough then he is big enough.Sammy lee is another example - those days the game was much more physical than nowadays.

I was concerned that Bannan's size might be an issue but I've seen little evidence of it so far.

The only problem I have with BB's size is how it affects our midfield. We are not the biggest of teams and especialy so in midfield. We need at least one 6 footer in there and none of our current midfield are anywhere near that size. Maybe he can play the floating role behind a lone striker?

SSN now reporting he's having a medical down there. We've just been rejected for West Ham, Jesus Christ.

Before 'he wants to live in London' starts up - We pay for Pires to travel up everyday! It's not exactly the other end of the earth he could be down there in an hour or two.

If Ged was actually in for this player, it's a bit shit he couldn't convince him to come here over that shower of shite.
