Adam is a decent player and anyone who can't see that isn't worth taking seriously. He doesn't seem short on confidence so the changed expectation levels shouldn't phase him but I'm not sure how willing we are to enter into a bidding war so I have my doubts about whether it will happen.

So far then, a third of the way into the window, we've loaned a Spurs reserve (albeit a decent one possibly), have a 28 year old from the Disney League on trial (still) and are being linked with Bridge, Barton, Samba & Adam.

He's a decent player, but I think his form will suffer if he leaves Blackpool, and if he ended up at Villa I can't see him making the difference between staying up and going down. We've got Petrov, NRC, Delph, Bannan, Hogg and Ireland in central midfield. He'd be an improvement on some of those, but surely a striker is a more pressing concern, especially if funds are limited?

hes better than sidwell, and a would be a decent squad player to have around, but i wouldnt want to pay more than 3.5 - 4 mil for him.. nor would i expect him to be a regular first team starter...

Hopefully we can get Makoun signed up as I don't think we need Adam, we have Bannan and Delph coming through and if we did sign Adam I can't see him getting picked every week, it certainly is going to be an interesting 3 weeks!

BCV may not be H&V's beacon of optimism, but many on here lambasted him for predicting that we'd be in the bottom three after Christmas. And look where we are. I wouldn't go as far as saying Agbonlahor is a crock of shit, but he doesn't score enough goals, and goals are what we badly need at the moment. It was a priority before Carew was marginalisd by the manager and Heskey got injured/suspended. Now it's an urgent requirement. I'd like to see us do something about it.

I'm sure we all agree that a striker is a pressing concern, but why are you so sure we're not also after a striker?
