Other sources are saying that the whole deal for Sidwell is worth £3.5m - this includes his wages. He was going to Fulham in the summer for £2m and that's gone down since then. I read somewhere £250,000.

Sheldon, just because you have signed someone does not automatically change opinions on here to say they are shite and likewise visa versa. Saying things about a player that we have heard is nothing to do with them signing for us, look at the comments re Bridge. It might on a nose forum, but in general the views on Bentley have been negative for a long time. Indeed when we were in for him from Blackburn before Milner the board was split, and I strangely did not want him then but do now. Times change, and I think he will do really well wherever his loan is.

With Wolves, West Ham and Fulham all wanting Sidwell it“s a pity we couldn“t have got an auction going. A nominal fee of 250k it seems - the 3.5m in that article will refer to his wages over three years or whatever as Nick said.

We“re obviously relieved to get him off the wage bill that any transfer money is seen as a bonus. What an atrocious waste of money he was - must be close to 10m when accounting for his 2.5 years of wages here.
