I bet Blues fans will be doing cartwheels after they've signed Kenny Miller.

Walker bridge and samba improves the defence , makoun would sort the midfield so now for a keeper and striker - maybe there is hope after all if we can bring in 6 new signings, new faces were desperately needed- as was a clearout - let's hope things take an upturn if we get these players in.

Won't be sorry to see Carew go. Couldn't run, jump or direct a header... and rarely in the box when we needed him. Ok - I do concede that he did provide some good goals and moments for us - but then I think Frank Bruno would have if he'd been centre-forward.
HOWEVER, having said that, on the rare occasions we have played balls into Carew's feet he has looked a better player, and Di Matteo will get Albion doing more of that. MON's tactics of launching everything to his head just showed up all his weaknesses.

Welcome and good luck to Kyle Walker. Looked useful on tv for QPR the other week, but I am concerned that Licah seems to have been dumped after a couple of poor shows against the better teams. Hopefully it's just a case of not destroying his confidence.

Bridge? Not convinced, and certainly not at £90k a week (will we still have to pay him the week we play Citeh when he can't play?). Warnock has had a nightmare season, but this time last season he was streets ahead of Bridge - who hasn't played much since.

What on earth are you talking about? Most of Carew's goals have come from his head?

My mate is a Derby season ticket holder, he was never impressed with Kenny Miller.

4 goals in 30 appearances.

Bentley could be a good loan signing but he has only started 3 games this season so hopefully he is a waste of time. Someone mentioned Larsson going to Newcastle, hopefully that goes through cos he loves playing against us.

That deal makes no sense at all for either Blues or Rangers.

He's had two good seasons in the SPL but so have McDonald and Boyd and they are floudering in the Championship. There are better, younger, equally cheap strikers in Scotland.

In the position Blues are in Bentley on loan will give them much more creative spark than they have at the moment. Think of the 3, Keane, Miller and him, Bentley will have the biggest impact. Think it is a good deal, although if we can only have 2 prem loans, Walker and Bridge are in much more important positions for us considering the lack of depth at full back we have.

Bridge makes sense form a loan perspective but WTF is all this about us selling Carew to WBA?  It's insanity and appears like they are considering it.  They are struggling at the moment and if he is fit and can be arsed (ok it's an outside shot) would improve them.  Mad.

What on earth are you talking about? Most of Carew's goals have come from his head?
His headed goals have come when the ball has glanced his head and ended up going goalwards. He doesn't very often direct the ball with his head... the ball generally just hits his head and goes off in any random direction! His best goals have been shots, but even they're usually deflected.
My point about playing to his feet was more about build up play though. If you launch a long ball from the back to Carew in the air, even if he does manage to get up and win the header it's anyone's guess which direction the ball's going to go in. You've more chance of keeping possession with him if you can get the ball to his feet, so if Albion played that way with him he could do something for them.
Unfortunately under MON our attacks often ended once the ball was launched his way in the air... which usually resulted in the opposition winning the header, or picking up the loose ball after it had bounced off the top of Carew's head, or won a free-kick because Carew couldn't jump and ended up fouling.
