Worrying trend to sign other club's third choice players on loan.  Did MON in fact leave not because Randy reduced the budget, but rather offered no budget?!

No.
Transfer money was and still is there.
It's the wage bill that's the problem.

Want two signings this weekend. Striker and solid mid. Then with Walker and possible new left back go to the  "scum" and give them a serious kicking. That would bring some major spirit back to the fans and AVFC .........

The General stated it on at least 3 occasions.
Unless he's lying.
Which I doubt.

Is the Wayne bridge rumour reliable or just idle gossip?

Ged has said there has been dialogue with Bridge and City.

Houllier confirmed that enquiries had been made.

Never rated him myself.

Interesting if it comes off then maybe warnock will be used in exchange for samba? GED seems to have his fingers in a few pies with walker, bridge, samba, makoun and cummings all being strongly linked , on trial or signed - makes a nice change from hanging around till deadline day.

I'll give Houllier this, at least he looks like he won't be leaving it until the afternoon/evening of the 31st Jan

It would be brilliant if you are right, but integrating 4 new players into a team rarely happens instantly.

Saves me being glued to Sky's transfer coverage on the last day hoping and praying but knowing we won't sign anyone, then finding out Spurs signed someone well after the deadline due to the fax maxhine running out of paper or something...

If we sign Bridge then Warnock must be on his bike. There is no way we will match his Citeh wages either I wouldn't have thought so they must be chipping something in.

Now, sign a bloody good striker please Houllier.

It happened the last time we beat them at their place.
