Will you be saying  that if Albion stay up and we get relegated ?

Will I be saying he's a waste of space? Yes.

I think Albion will stay up anyway, I don't think Carew lumbering around for them will make much difference.

If West Brom are relegated and we stay up will you come out and say it was the correct decision?
Yes I would. but I think it's more likely he'll have a new lease of life given that they have a creative midfield

Also, it MUST mean we are signing at least 1, if not 2 strikers imminently, cause if not, then I will turn from givning GH time to saying it is not on and getting rid, selling a striker who scores when in the mood is fine, but not replacing him when we are already desperately short up front is suicidal.

I agree fully Ozzjim. I have resisted giving GH a hard time to date but if we are going to rely for the next few weeks on an out of form and injury prone (this season) forward, a rookie reserve and an MLS loanee, then I'm afraid I would have to agree that he has totally lost the plot

I might even wonder if he is starting to do it deliberately...

Also, what's the score with goalkeepers?

Well, yes indeed PW, though I guess there is slightly less risk there of injury and suspension etc!

Which means you know what will happen this weekend...

Won't be sorry to see Carew go. Couldn't run, jump or direct a header... and rarely in the box when we needed him. Ok - I do concede that he did provide some good goals and moments for us - but then I think Frank Bruno would have if he'd been centre-forward.
HOWEVER, having said that, on the rare occasions we have played balls into Carew's feet he has looked a better player, and Di Matteo will get Albion doing more of that. MON's tactics of launching everything to his head just showed up all his weaknesses.

Welcome and good luck to Kyle Walker. Looked useful on tv for QPR the other week, but I am concerned that Licah seems to have been dumped after a couple of poor shows against the better teams. Hopefully it's just a case of not destroying his confidence.

Bridge? Not convinced, and certainly not at £90k a week (will we still have to pay him the week we play Citeh when he can't play?). Warnock has had a nightmare season, but this time last season he was streets ahead of Bridge - who hasn't played much since.

Justed watched Kyle walker interview. (good move) just what we need young, in form and hungry. PS he seriously looks like a young version of Gabby ???

Not to a relegation rival. He'll guarantee their survival

I'm just curious, will that be a contracted guarantee, or just turn-of-phrase guarantee?

I might be missing something here, but aren't West Brom fully capable of survival anyway? It's just a little bad run they are on at the moment. Thought they looked very good against manchester United the other day, and were unlucky not to win.

I couldn't give a flying hoot about where Carew goes and what he does there.

I hope we sign Bridge. Simply so we can get the "Villa's Bridge over troubled water" headlines.

What about "Bridge over troubles - Walker"?
Bridge puts past behind him says new Villa youngster.

We should seriously be after those 2 players if available.

According to the SSN website we have been talking to the Dortmund keeper Roman Weidenfeller

Muntari has looked next to useless on the odd occasions I have seen him this season Paul and what do we really know about this other guy apart from that he seems to possibly be something of a troublemaker?

I'd take the chance! It's not like our current squad is on a winning streak it is?

I'm sure we are talking to a lot of agents/teams/players about signing for us, but nothing seems easy these days. I can't imagine for a second it is lost on GH that we need midfield/forward help, but then the other teams also know that. If it was easy to sign players than with all the money in the world, Man City would have signed Dzeko already, and Spurs should have signed Beckham by now.
