I thought since Gary Macallister was talking about it in the past tense it was now a bit more than a rumour.

It was actually the journalist that wrote the piece talking about it in past tense, not the direct quote from Macallister.

Still, looks like he might be the first be through the door....

I've been weighing up why the hell we'd sign a Spurs youth player on loan without an option, even if he is highly rated.

I've also wondered why Spurs would send him here, even if they want him to get Prem experience, considering he's not guarenteed a place every week.

The only conclusion I can draw is that Houllier has a target in mind but is only gettable in the Summer, so wants someone who will fit into his system (it would seem if we're going 4-2-3-1 with two holding players we'll need pacier fullbacks, perhaps even wingbacks to start attacking moves).

So perhaps he isn't a 'Warnock replacement' and perhaps he will play on the right?

If that is his system then I've no idea where it leaves Cuellar and Lichaj.

From what Mysteryman has said on VT, Redknapp and Walker want this to be permanent.
And Walker is essentially a right back and where he'll most likely play.

That may go some way in explaining the delay in any announcement. If it was a loan deal, it's a fairly straight forward operation; agreeing a fee is another thing all together. The other point is that Spurs are not flush and always need to sell to buy.

He's got a pretty long track record of being correct more often than not, and has good links with the club

Day 5 & not a single signing to show off at the Sunderland game?  Get yer fingers out, fellas.  Oh sorry, we might be able to say hi to that bloke who is worse than Clint Dempsey or Ricardo Fuller.

People I trust, trust him. That's good enough for me.
I've never been to his Island base or anything though.

anyone who watched qpr last week live on sky will have seen kyle walker put in a tremendous man of the match display , looked a really attacking right back and delivered several great crosses and also looked solid in defence- warnock was saying on goals on sunday he was desperate to keep him at qpr but the premiership clubs were after him.

id far rather sign him permanent than on loan - will prove to be a class signing!

Mysteryman is not his real name, it's the Shoveller.
