Also from IMScouting:

"Aston Villa have bid for Basel's Behrang Safari , according to the German 4-4-2 Web site.

Safari's contract expires at the end of the season and Villa are said to have offered Basel €1 million to sign the 25-year old in January.

Borussia Dortmund are also interested in his services.

Safari is a fast, talented player, who can play as a left back as well as on the left of midfield.

He is renowned in Switzerland for his great attacking skills and the danger he poses down left wing. He still has some defensive weaknesses though, as he is a bit lacking in positional sense and physical strength"

Could be a like for like replacement for Warnock  ;)

Your about 3 days late with this one

As for a goalkeeper, I see Thomas Kuszczak is considering a move, Baggies fans say he is the beat keeper they have had for 30 years.

Could be worth a punt?

: Rangers keeper Allan McGregor is wanted by Aston Villa 2nd January 2011 By Harry Pratt
ASTON VILLA are ready to step up their £4million pursuit of Rangers keeper Allan McGregor.

Manager Gerard Houllier has had scouts monitoring the progress of the Scottish international (below) during the past couple of months.

And the struggling Midlands outfit have now decided that McGregor, 28, is the best available long-term replacement for their veteran stopper Brad Friedel.

American Friedel, 39, is still waiting to find out if he will be offered a new one-year deal by Villa at the end of this season.

But that depends on whether they persuade Scottish champions Rangers to sell McGregor – either in the current transfer window or next summer.

If they do tie up a deal for McGregor – who has been capped seven times by Scotland – then Friedel will definitely be surplus to requirements at Villa Park.

I'm old enough to crap myself at the thought of Scottish keepers! - after Brad's shift yesterday for goodness sake give him a new contract I say!

Not much competition though is there.  Russell Hoult and Tony Lange?

How Samaras - one of the worst strikers the Premiership has ever seen - outwitted him yesterday, I'd be calling Guzan back.

GH clearly doesn't fancy Guzan at all.

According to the Mirror. Spurs are willing to sell Keane, Krancjar and Bentley but only if they can get £29m for them.

That is a funny not worth more that 5 million each if that.

And even at that I hope the Villa aren't their victims.
kranjaer is class. i'd take him anyday. If it wasnt for modric, he would be in their starting line up easily. I think we could really use him....
