If he plays, he scores goals.
Since his early 20s he's been a 1 in 2 striker.

And the last one of those we had was????

Richard Walker?

The last one I can remember who got even close was Withe.

And he was more like 1 in 2 1/2. We don't do regular goalscorers.

Platt was good from midfield and Yorkie wasn't bad for a year or two, but we generally have multiple double digit scorers in years we do well.

I said at the time that someone in years to come will look at his record and think we dropped a right bollock letting him go.

I can only think of Hitchens and Hateley in my time watching the Villa who might qualify as scoring 1 in 2 games.

Its about time we had a seriously able striker then.
I trust Gabby to do well and I still believe in the promise of Fonz and Weimann but we couldn't half do with a regular goalscorer right now.

Aye. can't see how he wouldn't improve our striking options. people have been moaning on here about us giving a trial to a yank based striker and now they're turning their noses up to a 25m striker? mad

Because he's a £25m striker with a stroppy attitude who only went to City for the money and a fat lot of good he's done there. Good player but not want you want in a possible relegation dog fight.

yep. love gabby but he's not a striker. thats no disrespect to him but an instinctive 2 foot out tap in guy he's not. him and adeboyer could work great. even heskey could work well with him

He is a very good player but i'd have serious reservations about shopping in Man City's reserves again for more stroppy buggers on obscene wages.

so you'd turn down rooney on the same grounds? Pray tell who is your ideal target bearing in mind we have 15m at most to spend on all deficiences in our squad

Well if you've watched Rooney via your satellite contraption today, you'll see he ran his arse off all over the pitch and i think most people would have him in their side over Adebayor. Besides, Rooney is'nt a £25m pound striker.

Adebayor is proven quality. Does anyone really think we could get an equal on loan?

We need goals to stay up and this geezer knows where the net is FFS!

Get real and let's take him!

he still has exactly the same traits as adeboyer. i mean at least Adebayor isn't happy because he can't get a game. rooney wanted out because he was worried about his salary. But i digress, who would you go for? given your criteria. lots of bottle, non-temperamental. falls into our price range?

Sorry that sounds a bit arsey but who?

The difference between Rooney and Adebayor was demonstrated in injury time of the game just shown. Can anyone seriously imagine Adebayor coming back on with an injury for the last 5 minutes? Whatever you think of Rooney as a man you cannot question his commitment on the pitch.

In any case I think this whole thing is purely hypothetical as I don't think we can afford his wages.
