I'd hoped we would have gone for Gylfi Sigurdsson when he left Reading last year.  Don't know how he's doing in Germany but looked a class act.
Very well.

Averaging a goal every other game so far this season from central midfield.

So we're signing players from the French div 2 to help in a delegation scrap ?
Please tell me I'm wrong

He's more than likely been targeted a while ago, I've no problem at all with getting in some young lads for the future, we probably hadn't thought we would need any grizzly old heads to see us out of trouble but they might have to come in as well.

Fofana is the sort of signing we should be making...a promising young european player signed for a low fee and on lowish wages rather than paying 50k to a bench warmer like Sidwell.

It's the sort of signing that's served Wigan well over the years and also Blackburn last season in Steven N'zonzi.

If we could also get proven european quality in Makoun, then that's a good start to rebuilding central midfield.

Bendtner IMO would be a good signing, he's never really had a run of 15 games or so for Arsenal.

Indeed, because he's crap.

Even when they had no fit strikers, they'd sometimes play without any strikers rather than use him.

Probably because he was injured aswell at the time.

This lad actually has a decent scoring record for Arsenal over the last 18 months.

Yeah but he is always injured. He has such an ego, he wouldn't come to a club like us, he'd consider himself in the Real Madrid or Milan club's category.

Fofana looks ideal for us and I'd be very much in favour of grabbing Bendtner too
If Citeh are having a clearout, Given, Lescott, Bridge, Richards, Onuoha, Adebayor amonst others, would be more than useful

This will be wildly unpopular but if he's open to offers, I'd take Seb Larsson in the blink of an eye.

If Ashley goes then Matt Jarvis, he always puts in 100% and always delivers a good final ball/pass

I used to rate him but he was shite last night...don't think one of his crosses beat the first man.

As the other poster said, Jarvis as Young's replacement in the summer will be much better.

I just think him being a niggly little bastard with some element of skill might do us some good.

From the Beeb: "2138: Arsenal's Nicklas Bendtner and Sebastien Squillaci get in each other's way as they attempt to head a deep cross from Bacary Sagna goalwards. A decent chance goes begging."

Even though he scored tonight, I still maintain you have to have this Bendtner as part of the deal, and he's not the man to solve our striking problem.

Its not Bendtners fault somebody else got in his way though is it?
And he's not absolute top class or we wouldnt be talking about him as Arsenal would be keeping him.
But he's a natural finisher, big and strong with a fair bit of nous. We could really use a player like that right now.

Bendtner might not be the ideal solution but he's currently fit and ready to play, which is more than Heskey and Carew can say
