If we get Fofana it could be quite a coup for us.  This lad is very, very highly rated on a European level.  This is what makes me want to give Houllier a fighting chance; the contacts he has, the knowledge of football that he has could be very beneficial for Villa...if we just stick with him!

yeah same here   , much better than signing the likes of Keane and Mcgready  ;-0

Has anyone seen Fofana play? If so, what should we expect? Is he ready to go straight into the team or own for the future?

I hope he signs if for no other reason than when I read his name it makes me sing Psycho Killer, Qu'est-ce que c'est Fofanafafafafafa.

he looks fantastic on Youtube Chris, but you can make Stephen Ireland look like Messi on youtube..   but he does look good..  good signing I reckon If happens

Weirdly, I don't think it's a question of how many we get in, but how many we manage to get shot of. We need to clean the wound

we need this Fofana signing badly. If only to life the mood amongst us. He looks very promising and according to one or two sources he's having a medical today. I pray that's true.

Aston Villa and Blackburn Rovers are leading the race to sign Barcelona starlet Oriol Romeu.

Romeu is seen as one of the promising current crop of Barca’s youngsters, but his suitors will point to Sergio Busquets negotiating a new contract and formidable competition for a first-team place also coming from Javier Mascherano.

The 19-year-old can also play in the centre of defence but is more accomplished in midfield.
He was part of Spain’s Under-17 European Championship winning squad in 2008 and was the countries youngest representative at the Under -20 World Cup this year.

The Catalan giants want to tie him to a new deal well before his current contract comes to an end in 2012.

However, his impressive performances in the holding role for Barcelona B have attracted widespread interest.

The only thing about Fofana is I don't like the idea of throwing him into a midfield of a struggling team that's already got an average age of about 12.  We need a bit of experience to guide us through the next few months.  He's another "one for the future", alongside Bannan, Hogg, Delph and Albrighton.

I think they're the manufacturers of Fofanadin.

good point. But some players just look more ready than others despite the age. This might be a bad comparison, but a 17yr Rooney vs a 17yr Delfouneso. Worlds apart. Rooney looked ready despite his age. I think, like you he's more one for the future, but maybe he can add some bite right now.

I want a Joey Barton type player, without it being Joey Barton if that makes any sense.

Linked with Bendtner today too. Not sure whether the suggestion is a loan or permanent deal.

Would be a decent replacement for Carew.  So would a traffic cone, but i'd fancy Bendtner to chip in with a few more goals.

why bother signing him then..       Its only one player , Im sure there will be more , and the experience ones we have got havent done much so far for us ..        He looks a good signing to me...

Bendtner has a massive ego, but despite all the shit that gets thrown at him, he's a bloody good striker in the PL. He needs to play on a regular basis and I think he'll score goals given the opportunity. Our problem recently isn't so much in the creation of chances, it's the blunt edge we have up front and the fact that our defence opens up as easily as Jordan's legs.
