Re Robbie Keane.

Get him on loan for the rest of the season, tell him if he does the business we'll give him a good deal. If he doesn't then he can enjoy going back to shitty Wolves in the Championship.

Sidwell, NRC, Carew, Heskey, Freidel

Cost roughly £20 million plus around 200k a week in salary.

They are all going to leave for free in the summer, so if they are not staying sell and at least get something for them in January!

0902 GMT: Liverpool have submitted an offer of £10.7m for Lille's Ivory Coast striker Gervinho. From BBC Gossip.

Was he the one with the dodgy haircut in the World Cup? I thought he looked quite good when he came on.

I'd only sell Sidwell at this stage until we are safe from the drop

Considering how well Heskey has played when fit this season, our lack of strikers, and how much we would get for him, it would be insane to sell. Freidel likewise, unless we can get Given in straight away (or similar). I would like to keep Coker but if he won't sign a new deal I'd sell. Carew and Sidwell are dead wood so can go.

my feeling is NRC has lined something-up and is off. A shame but after all that time frozen out by MON he probably wants a fresh start somewhere else

I'd go for Tuncay over Keane.

I know Tuncay can't get in the Stoke team but if there was ever a case of a player not fitting into their style of play it's him.

Similar player to Keane but younger and probably cheaper.

Stoke will only want 5m so offer 2m + Curtis Davies who's been linked to them in the past.

In the summer, I'd break the bank for Rodallega. I think he could turn into a fantastic striker.

Would still prefer Vagner Love over all three. He's great in the second striker role, dropping deep, running with the ball, dribbling and creating chances! Would partner Gabby or Nathan well IMO.
Should be available and gettable.

He's got the X Factor ;-)

I know what you're saying, but if the player is insisting he wants out (and I'm not sure we're at that stage yet) there isn't a huge amount we can do.

I disagree - in summer, yes, in Jan, no.

There is a lot more we can do in January than there is at the end of the season, when it is far harder to hold onto players.

The only reason to punt him on in January (regardless of how much he wants it) rather than in the summer would be for the slightly increased fee. To do it now, especially when we're really struggle to find inspiration in the team, would be insanity.

Football is all about entertainment...after watching him today I want us to get Taarabt! I am sure he is frustrating as hell, but some of the things he does are unbelievable!

The fee alone would be prohibitive, but to spend it on a striker who looks good in the Championship and couldn't get near the Spurs first team would be a no for me.

We should not sell anyone who is useful and worth keeping in January. For me that goes for Heskey, NRC and Brad senior. These three guys are all hard workers and good contributors. Heskey will score goals to get points and the other two will help us keep them. Getting at best a million for each and saving another few million in wages is a false economy if you think they have all been decent performers when available this season. For me all three should be starters until the end of the season unless we do some decent trading to get in better.

For players like Sidwell, Ireland and Carew who have done fuck all so far this season I would sell them on. The three are so bad that I think Sidwell is the one who has the best chance of coming back to haunt us as he can be decent in the right team. Carew is past it and looking for a last big pay day and Ireland is shot in his mind.

He is 21 years old. He plays attack midfielder. He is dominating the Championship. He would cost £5-7m i reckon. There was a lot of competition for him at Spurs in his position eg Modric, Kranjar, Bentley etc

He would be perfect as that attacking mid we desperately crave!

The fact that he's dominating the Championship is precisely the reason he wouldn't cost £5-7 million

I put him along side Gylfi Sigurdsson who was sold in April for £6m to Hoffenheim. So I am sure we could get him for roughly the same. I cannot think of a Championship player being sold for more.
