Must confess I haven't seen a huge amount of him, and Boro's form this season wouldn't exactly be a ringing endorsement either. Whether that's simply a case of a good player in a poor team remains to be seen.

He could be one of those players in the bracket that Everton have had a lot of joy with in recent years, namely good Championship players hungry to make a name for themselves and improve. See Lescott, Jagielka, Cahill and co.

We need to get these type of players on the up, rather than pay big darts for the likes of Shawcross. Or ageing big-name players on a downward curve like Dunne.

Should be pretty cheap as he's out of contract soon too.

If we have two CB's from Cuellar, Wheater and Collins to pick from by the end of the window we'll be in pretty decent shape.
