If the Guardian article is to be believed then I think Houlier has his finger right on the pulse.

It all depends on who he brings in now.

It all depends on who's available.

We seem to be seeing more links with players leaving than arriving, which although initially worrying is also understandable bearing in mind how quiet we keep things.  The rumours of players going probably leak as we want that to be known so offers can come in.

I see two categories of player leaving - those that have served their purpose need to be moved on  (Carew, Freidel), those that probably weren't good enough to begin with (Sidwell, Davies) and those that Gezza doesn't think will fit into his new regime (Dunne, Warnock, Ireland).

After that we should be trying to keep everyone else (other than those that don't get a look in like Salifou and Osborne).

I think Dunne would be pretty easy to move on if we needed to.

It's only six months since he was in the Premier League 'Team Of The Year' and that will give him an awful lot of credit with people who haven't seen him play too much this season.

I can fully believe that, especially based on the Guardian's supposition that Warnock's departure would be eyebrow raising. We'll find takers very easily for some of them even ones who won't be missed.

That too.  But, if you are intending to ship out certain players you surely must have replacements lined up, at least you'd hope so.

Anyway, a mates daughter who works at the Cock Inn in Wishaw seen Houlier in there the other day with two other men.  The youngest of which did no talking, I can only assume he was a shy and passive type footballer.

Most likely it was Randy and Paul Faulkner.

Maybe the younger lad was South American and spoke neither English or French....

A turist in Wishaw? Unlikely, unless he'd been playing golf at the Belfry. Maybe it was Angel Cabrera's son.

Can't you be serious for once, you silly arse?

Lord Charles is clearly older than Ray Allen and does all the talking.
Therefore we're signing Ray Allen.

The only other option I have is that it was an alien being from Proxima Centauri, channeling it's will through a human host.
It wont move any closer to Villa Park than the Oort cloud but is commited and will prove this by accepting a contract of only 17.3 Zorgs per orbital cycle and a Zzubian Interstellar GT with tinted windows and a subatomic particle bass accelerator.

That's like saying lets keep Carew because he is our top scorer of the last few years.

No it's not. We haven't seen a good game from Carew in a good 12 months and then it was sporadic. Dunne was consistently one of our better performers last season.

But due to our wage bill restrictions we are only willing to offer 10zorgs and a 1998 Vauxhall Vectra SRI with a broken exhaust.
