I would give him away for nothing.

Cut our losses & get him off the wage bill.

I think we will get something like half a million, then abit more if they stay up.

Sidwell is in a win win, because he will surely put a relegation clause in.

Basically, Sidwell had one decent season, followed by spells with two much bigger clubs where he couldn't cut it

I think that's the problem with him and a lot of players like him.  They look great at a 'smaller' club where the team is built round them, but when they move up a level and need to adapt their game to those around them, then they can't.

In truth he's probably a better player than we think, but not as good as we need!

Small fish/big pond syndrome.

Sounds like a typical Sullivan & Gold deal..fifty bob down and a pound a week.

Still... its another waste of space off the wage bill I suppose.

For me John, the problem tends to be much more about players who have a run of decent games for their club and are suddenly built up into something they are not, are signed up by a big team for ridiculous amounts of money and then go on to disappoint because the hype isn't really grounded in anything of substance. The premier league is littered with such players...

I must admit, I like the noises Houllier is making regarding commitment etc.
If you dont want to move close to the club, if you dont want to do everything possible to get yourself in the right shape to do YOUR JOB and earn YOUR extravagant wages, just go away and/or don't consider joining us in the first place.

Purge the lazy useless arseholes we have and make we sure we dont buy any more. Music to my ears.
Of course, he has to buy some very good players. We dont need any commited but shit players either.

Notice that some Man City fans were critical of Milner last night, why do some players think they are better than they are.

There are some players that only seem to suit one particular way of playing where others can look the part in any team. Darren Bent is another; good players if the side is setup to suit their style but pretty average otherwise.

Not playing him in his best position doesn't help. But fcuk em,let him go to waste their. Even though Mancini bought him,i dont think he has much of a career their while he's boss,as im sure bigger name signings will come. I'd have him back in a cut price deal!

I'm not so sure. I think Delph will play the Milner role in the future...and do it better!

Yeah, him and Gardner can be the future, but you can expect too much consistancy for a couple of years or so. We've badly missed Milners energy in the midfield. He's not getting the chance to show that at City as they have Toure, but as i said, fcuk him and city!

The BBC gossip column is saying this...

West Ham's current star striker, Frederic Piquionne, has rejected reports that he will leave the Hammers for Aston Villa when the January transfer window opens.
Full story: Goal.com

Meanwhile, Aston Villa are poised to make a £1m for Lokomotiv Moscow star Alan Gatagov.
Full story: talkSPORT

Piquionne could be worth a punt depending on his fee, I don't know anything about Gatagov? I shall have to google him!

Wouldnt be impressed with Piquionne

Newcastle are willing to let Barton go for £1.5m

I've got a feeling that it's going to happen.
