From what iv heard Houlliers getting 30 million in jan with Given, Lescott, Keane and a lad called Gomes from Lyon. Thats a promising start at least!

Where did you hear that ?

My dad heard it from someone and he usually gets it right, told me we was signing young and shorey the day before it happened...
All of these players are realistic. Most of em want out of there clubs and the managers seem willing to let them go. That Gomes is a former Houllier player so wether its lazy journalism i dont know but he's heard it a few times. I also forgot to mention Djibrial Cisse!

That's worrying. Six months ago I wouldn't have had any of those (Gomes aside because I haven't seen him) in our starting eleven.

Id take Given without any second thoughts. I thought when he was playing he was the best keeper in the prem. Id also take Lescott, regular games and he provides some performances. Theres goalscoarers in there that we need. These are realistic players that can win us games!

Given has total command of his goal line, and that's about it.

A great keeper for the cameras, less so if you're a centre half in front of him.

The point was these players are not going to push us past where we already were, and if true,we're going to spunk £30m to, at best, stand still.

Given makes some great saves. His handling and shot stoppings brilliant. Lescott could com in the defence and take Dunne or Collins out. Im not sure about Keane or Cisse though...

Bulls*** .... he has been the best and most consistent Keeper in the last decade.

Still think Mancini's decision to go with Hart will come back to bite him on the arse.

Also, maybe if we had Shay here he could get through to Dunne to sort himself out.

Momo Sissoko set for £7m Villa Switch

Defensive midfielder, remember him at Liverpool before he had an eye injury.

Could this mean that NRC won't be signing a new deal?

Glad thats in The Mirror, he's looked useless every time I've seen him play and certainly no better than NRC.

i would be most disappointed if we swapped a hard worker who cant pass with a poor touch, for a headless chicken who cant pass with a poor touch and it cost us 7 million for the privilege...

In other news Pigs have started to fly  ;)

Not the £30 mill part, as Randy has always been forthcoming with funds,

Cannot see the players quoted wanting to join a team in real trouble.

Would they join a team that is in imaginary trouble though?

Whilst there is no doubting the precariousness of our current predicament, we are still probably a more attractive proposition to most of those players than 70% of the other teams in the Premier League.

I don't think NRC has the best touch, but I know what you're saying.

Yeah Lescotts Villa and his bro played in the academy. Which is why he's even more realistic

I've got a feeling Lescott will go to Wolves on loan.
