No, I meant what I said.

One in four including his stint at Liverpool and his second stint at Spurs.

If we're signing players on the basis of what they did five years ago lets push the boat out and get Damien Duff too.

Duff's recent form looks stunning compared to Keane's...

We've got to let Keane go. We should have signed him from Wolves, possibly should have got him when he first started drifting out of the picture of Liverpool, even a year ago when he was out of favour at Spurs. But I think he's a spent force now.

Lescott and Keane? Seriously?

One is past it and the other is not very good and injury prone.

I like the sound of that Lacine Traore but I'd anticipate a more experienced guy who has played at a higher level as a more immediate signing. Same goes for Soder.

I'd like to give Lescott a look, there's a very good player there and he is Villa.

Lescott is only 28. I'd have him at Villa like a shot.

Keane, nah. No thanks. Once upon a time but not now.

But lets be honest its not a real transfer window unless we are linked with him - so we can never buy him otherwise what are we going to do in the run up to the summer it will be Benny McCarthy !!

This is the first transfer window in a number of years that I'm actually looking forward to. Most of us got used to a MON window and knew things wouldn't really kick off until the end. This time around we'll be linked to a number of different types of player and I expect Houllier to do everything he can to add numbers, difficult as it might be in January.

It's a myth you can't sign anyone decent in January, Spurs regularly sign players that improve them in the second half of the season and Man. City got Adam Johnson last January.
Ashley Young's done a half-decent job for us over the years as well.
We signed Shaun Maloney, too, oh & Wayne Routledge. Legends.
I'm not quite sure what you're point is.

Are you debating that someone has said that every signing in January is good? I think you're more or less on your own in that little argument.

Does Ian Taylor represent Lescott?

I think the fact it is January will make it very difficult indeed, so my expectations are low.

The last couple of years there seems to have been less and less business done in January.

From the Mirror

Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor has been told by manager Gerard Houllier to lay off lifting weights. The 24-year-old was told by previous boss Martin O'Neill to bulk up but Houllier says: "Sometimes players do too much. He's not in the gym now. The fact is, I think he should stop, he's too stocky."

Quite noticable in the Utd game that he had trimmed down.

Interesting.  I'd say that Gabby's bigger build had helped him develop into a pretty decent target man.  If we're to persevere with a one (or three) up front option then I think such a player is needed.

Gabby's biggest asset is his speed as we saw against Man U. Adding bulk will only slow him down and puts extra pressure on his muscles and joints. While he has improved in all aspects of his game, his speed makes him the player he is. Not his other striker attributes.
