...........................Friedel

Young.........Collins.....Clark..........Warnock

..................M'Vila........Delph

.......Young........Ireland......V-Love

.......................Agbonlahor

Bit unfair to be dropping Downing and Albrighton.  Also don't think Love would be best deployed wide.  Why not just keep the attacking trio of Ash/Downing/Marc and rotate Gabby with Love.  The options are then to drop which ever of the three is least performing and go 4-4-2, or bring in Ireland to see if Love does bring out the best in him.

I think rotation, options and playing the inform players is key, definitely John. My formation was just an example, wasn't looking to 'drop' Downing and Albrighton, but having better options on the bench and being able to rest players must be seen as a bonus IMO.

I didn't see Vagner-Love playing predominantly wide left, more inside. He showed in both games against us how devasting he can be cutting in from the left channel. I think any 3 from Ireland, Downing, Ashley, Marc or VL could rotate behind the striker and support him. Gabby's pace would open up plenty of space for them too.

We're linked with this striker .... Robin Soder , anyone know about him ?

Only what I've read about him today. Described as 'highly rated' but 'sparingly used' last season, which sounds a little strange to me, I think we have our own 19 year old highly rated, sparingly used striker already! Apparently Soder has drawn comparinsons to Henrik Larrson, due to his devasting finishing, although I imagine it's more to do with him being Swedish.....and a striker!

He's the little blonde number 11 in the first half of this video

We need Keane more than ever. A few years ago, he was the man to give us a chance of a top four finish. Now he's the man to banish any talk of relegation. I sincerely believe that no matter how many goals we let in, with a goalscoring machine such as him, there would be no more talk of relegation on here.
Paying 6 million to ensure premiership football for another season is well worth it.

From that clip, he looks more like a replacement for Ashley Young.

Spookily enough that was what I thought as well.

I assume that was tongue in cheek.

Decent link man and can join play well but one thing Keane has rarely (if ever) been is a goalscoring machine.

Including his time at Liverpool and his second stint at Tottingham (not incuding his stint of part-time football up in Scotland) his average has dropped to one in four.

So a few years ago maybe, but I don't see why we should help other clubs out and take their deadwood. He'll be 31 in a few months too. We're more than well stocked when it comes to underperforming strikers the wrong side of 30, thanks all the same.

Agree completely, Keane from Wolves or before he moved to Spuds the first time would have been great, but not now, no way!

It wasn't tongue in cheek and I'd be very surprised if his goal ratio is one in four...... to hazard a guess, I reckon he's still at one per 180 mins at the least... in other words a goal every other game...
When you say "one in four" is that counting a twenty min sub appearance as a whole game?

of course, he would have been better five years ago, but we are in a bit of bother at the mo..
