I think trying to bring in that many in January would be a panic measure. We've got Petrov, Reo Cooker, Delph, Sidwell, Gabby, Heskey, Cuellar, Davies and Albrighton to come back into the squad.

A couple of decent additions will do and give a chance for the manager to have a proper look at the  all of his squad before getting down to the real business in the summer.

I think we should panic personally. But I see you point. Saying that, if the two signings aren't top draw, then we'll remain up shit creek. In that regard, I seriously hope Houllier isn't a Martin.

In Martin's first January window we signed Carew, Ash and Maloney.  OK they had varying degress of sucess, bu the boat was pushed out as it needed to be.  Once everyone is back fit I think our needs are less than they were then, but the same principal still applies.

If we don't get at least one quality addition, preferrably in midfield or upfront, then I'll be quite disappointed.

you cant always get the players you want in Jan.. Id be quite happy with two with Delph ,Albrighton etc coming back.

and then do the big big deals in the summer.....
