they manage to raise their games because its like their cup final... or they park the bus...

scottish football is not of a high standard, and for me, i dont think we should be touching any of their players again, with a bargepole...

That said we used to get our best players from Scotland.

Craig Gordon is decent, he was from scotland, he was motm against Spurs the other week

Decent, but not what he was billed to be. Cost Sunderland (and very nearly us) £9m.

Same with Hutton and Spurs.

Decent players, but nowhere near their reputation.

That said McGregor is a decent 'keeper and one we should definitely take a look at. Bet he'd be on half of Friedel's wages too...

There are lot better 'keepers out there we should be looking at in the summer. Only problem is both Arsenal & Manyoo will be in the market for new one's too. Although United should have that Danish fella signed by then.

Roman Weidenfellar from Dortmund should be available on a free
Maarten Stekelenburg must be looking to challenge himself in a real league
Samir Handanovič from Udinese would be a great signing

I don't think McGregor is up to the standard we should be looking at.

No, no.

A few of those listed above are fairly well known. Stekelenburg is the Dutch national keeper.

If it was Blackwell it would be obscure names from that well known footballing production line in Norway. Or young Argentinians or Brazilians.

I see spurs are linked with 12 million Lassana Diarra.

That's a shame because he just what we need.

On the Beeb site they are reporting that David Moyes would be happy to take David Beckham on loan for the rest of the season - all Beckham had to do was call.  Why don't we give him a bell - similar type of deal and advantage as taking Pires, and 2 years younger. A big buzz round the club, shore up our depleted midfield, great for the youngsters (and a role model for some of our olders), and thousands of replica shirts sold.  Go on Randy - give him a call.  May well be he wouldn't be interested but wouldn't hurt to ask

Yeah sorry to disappoint! Two of those listed were at the WC this summer and the other plays for the current top placed Bundesliga team. Besides there's nothing wrong with expanding your vision a little further then B6, we live in a global community now a days!  Put down your mince and potatoes and try something a little more exciting, something spicy, you never know you might just enjoy it! **winky face**

Manure just signed the Danish keeper they were after. Can't play until Jan but that puts them out of the market.

McGregor's a good keeper, always impressed me whenever I've seen him play for Scotland or Rangers.

I've got a number of Rangers supporting mates, and every one of them thinks he's brilliant and much better than Craig Gordon. They'd be gutted to lose him, but fear it's inevitable in January.

Gordon's been steady at Sunderland but has never given me the impression we missed out hugely not signing him in 2007.

Plus he's been injured a lot.

Axel Witsel just had a storming game for Standard, ran the midfield and scored two goals in the process! Would love to see him in our midfield alongside Clark or Delph.

Off to watch our future striker playing for Porto now... ;)
