Adam Johnson has been linked with a move away from Man City and we could do a lot worse. Could be a replacement for Young.

Good player but not one to fit into GH's vision of the team coming first.

From today's Times:

Emile Heskey is recovering well from knee surgery but Houllier is still likely to make a new striker a priority. He is eager to sign Karim Benzema if Villa can outbid Juventus and should Real Madrid wish to offload him.

Houllier has also been linked with Juninho who played under him at Lyons, and Lacina Traoré of Cluj and Ivory Coast.

Not sure about that, he strikes me as  professional in his approach to the game.  Is he a me me me type character?

Mancini has warned him a couple of times about his 'lifestyle' and he was one of those involved in the piss up in Scotland the other week.

apparently, he is going the same way that most english players go as soon as the media start bigging them up and turning into a complete arsehole who thinks he is bigger than jebus...

shame really, but not unsurprising...

Didn't know about that.

I stand corrected.  £12,000 to go an a date with Jordan, some footballers really are tossers.

Benzema would be a dream come true! Lacina Traore has good feet for a basketball player!

The very epitome of more money than sense.

Or taste, in this particular instance.

Adam Johnson would be fantastic, Manicini is a terrible man manger, who is moaning about his players going out.

Like their the only ones, Wasn't Ashley out late in Manchester recently, hoillier wasn't moaning like Mancini was he.

Nice chance of Benzema but it sounds good If Houlier thinks we might outbid Juve if was possible , there must be a bit of money to spend ;-)

In the press conference today Houllier said "Benzema, that's likely haha". Note the haha. He know's there's not much chance of that.

He also said "Ashley Young, £80m haha". Even GH knows that with 18 months left on Ashley Young's contract, January is the best time to sell if he's not going to sign. £25m? Deal.

The article says it was at charity auction so I cannot see the problem. I’d have him down the Vila in a flash, tosser or otherwise he’s one of the most promising players in England.

£12k might only be half a week's wages for Adam Johnson.

they manage to raise their games because its like their cup final... or they park the bus...

scottish football is not of a high standard, and for me, i dont think we should be touching any of their players again, with a bargepole...

That said we used to get our best players from Scotland.

Craig Gordon is decent, he was from scotland, he was motm against Spurs the other week
