My knowledge of M'Vila is limited to what I have just read on wiki, but it sounds both a very promising and also plausible signing.

Age: 20 (young up and coming player who can compliment NRC and Petrov, but also offer something different to Bannna/Delph)
Position: Defensive Midfield (yep, we need one of those)
Nationality: French (Houllier probably knows him well, especially as he has captained the U19. Now playing for the full team aged only 20)
Current Team: Rennes (Villa are bigger and able to offer more Kerr-ching)

Don't expect many goals from him though.

Has Bad English provided a scouting report?

He looked a cracking prospect a few years ago but I haven't paid a lot of attention recently, I take it he must have been pretty poor to still be there.
