Anyway we cant afford too pay 100k a week for o e player.

I have faith in houllier, he seems to have improved as a manager since his Liverpool days. So hopefully his transfers have aswell.

Juventus bought the player in 2008 from Palermo, where he exploded,

I suppose it makes a change from a thigh strain.

This:

is quite interesting. Not so much direct links but someone's put some research together on five strikers who would potentially suit us. One or two familiar names, worth a read!

Falcao and Farfan are the two that stand out of those listed, but both I think would cost more than the £10-15m they suggest.

Falcoa was mentioned by a few on here before he moved to Porto. Would have been worth a punt for 4 mill euro at the time, but no way would that have happened with MON ..  I bet hes fee has quadrupled since then...

Does Farfan get a game for Schalke? I would have thought Huntelaar and Raul would be the first choice pairing. From what I know of Farfan he was more of a winger come striker at PSV rather than the main man up front.

Ndoye and one of Kerzhakov or Lens.

I think Falcao will cost too much now, tbh. So I'm ruling him out.

Hasn't Farfan been knocking around as some kind of next big thing for a fair few years?

Aston Villa want to sign Manchester United midfielder Darron Gibson either permanently or on loan.

Another Craig Gardner for me, great shot but doesn't do much else. I'm not sure about him.

Totally disagree. For the right fee i think he would be great addition.

But he doesn't actually do anything apart from once every ten games score from the edge of the area.

He's not good enough to get in our current midfield (well, our potential uninjured midfield anyway) so considering that it something we need to improve on anyway, I don't see where he fits in.
