It's not a case that Gezza will automatically buy more or better players than MON, but we really don't know what his thoughts/ambitions/style is towards transfers. 

It will be interesting to find out.

We are likely to have a few bids for Curtis Davies in January. He is supposed to be doing very well at Leicester. I still get the sneaking feeling that he will turn out alright when given a run of games. Could be worth cashing in on Dunne instead maybe given he is 31 and unlikely to have too many years left at the top.

Fletcher no need for a striker or JPA? I dont want JPA back but i certainly think there is a need for a striker with Nathan our only fit one at present, who has only started 2 prem games to date.  Yes hopefully the others will be fit soon, but I think another striker is a priority.

By the time we got him up to speed, our other strikers would be fit.
Bear in mind also that he was released from a club in the American League, it's a pretty ropey standard at best.

If he's available on a free it might be a decent idea to get him on a short term contract similar to Pires. He knows and loves the club, the fans love him, and I've always felt that he would have been far more successful for us if he had been surrounded by better players. At the very least he'd be more reliable as back up than Carew, who has been utterly hopeless this season.
