He used to play for St. Etienne.

So it does make sense for him to play for Aston Villa too.

Kranjcar is a prettyboy wanker who has one good game in ten.

Niko "Lee Hendrie" Kranjcar.

No to Fuller and no to any other even vaguely "I can't be arsed looking beyond these shores so any old shit will do" type signing either.

That said, I have a funny feeling we'll go for Danny Murphy at Fulham. Either in Jan or in the summer.

That's a good call,as he's probably the same age as Gary Mac was when was signed by GH.

Always thought Murphy was a decent footballer, but he'd be a squad player here as he's no better than what we already have, so I don't see the point personally.

I don't think you could say that with absolute certainty John.

He was one of GH's trusty lieutenants at the Redscouse and most managers like to surround  themselves with players they know. Doesn't look like he particularly rates Sidwell (didn't take him long) and he's subbed Petrov a few times too.

As we've seen with the current injury situation, our resources can get stretched very easily, so a player who he knows and trusts to come in and do a job might be the best we can do this window. Leaving the major rebuilding work to the summer - when a number of squad players will be out of contact anyway.

I'd very much doubt he'd go for him in the summer, he'll be 34 by that stage!

I view Murphy as better than NRC and Sidders and at least the equal of Petrov

The player that has impressed me in the Championship is Derby's Kris Commons - he could be worth a  punt

If you're talking short term due to injuries, then I wouldn't argue.

Sidders I grant you, but as I said 'not better' then being only as good as Petrov wouldn't improve us.  And although he may be better than NRC on the ball, he isn't as good off it, which is his purpose in the side.  I'd also pick Bannan and Ireland (although maybe not on present form) ahead of him.

Me nither, but if my brain was free of mind altering substances I definitely would.
