Keane and Owen are yesterdays men. Getting Gabby fit is a priority. Very difficult to pick up a striker in January. Pavluchenko is a good shout, could be difficult to get Kerzhakov out of Zenith St Petersburg but I was very impressed with him against Ireland . Not much point spending big money on either of these two really though as they are in their late 20s.

All in all if Gabby can shake off his injury problems I doubt we will be going into the striker market in January. Unless we can arrange a deal with Carew going the other way with someone. Centre midfield is a more pressing concern
