Llorente would be excellent but with Bilbao still maintaining a Basque only policy I couldn't see them letting him go, unless it was for silly money.

Hoarau's team mate at PSG Sessegnon is well worth a look too. But we're probably covered for attacking midfielders.

I think the problem with Llorente is he's making a big name for himself, since replacing Torres in the national team. He's going to be attracting the attention of some big clubs come January or next summer.
Seem to remember we were linked to Sessegnon this summer, foolishly while MON was still at the helm! I think if Houllier is running his eye over players close to his homeland then we could do a lot worse than Etienne Capoue from Toulouse, he's developed into a proper DM over last season and had started off really well this one. He's the big strong energetic stopper type that we really could do with, but he is also great on the ball and has a great eye for a pass. He's the type of player that always seems to be in the right place at the right time to break up play. I could imagine him forming a formidable central partnership with Delph.

Also saw we were linked with Gervinho from Lille, who would  be a welcome addition, very different to the strikers we currently have, he's got a big ol' bag of tricks and is a very instinctive finisher.

Gervinho's a good player, but I'm not totally sure if we and him would be a good fit. To adjust to the level of the PL he'd probably need to play a lot of games - and with our attacking midfield option I don't think he could be guaranteed that. Capoue is a very interesting shout, though, certainly has improvedd more than I'd have thought by this stage. I would say that he lacks a little in terms of ideas in deep midfield, and I don't get the feeling that he's going to do much dictating of the game in possession. But certainly a good player, who's come on leaps and bounds.

I think Gervinho would work really well in a 4-3-3 or even one of the three in a 4-2-3-1. He's comfortable playing wide and cutting in and as I said he's very skillful and has plenty of tricks, something i think we could do with in our attacking force.
Have to disagree with you about Capoue, the times I've seen him play he's shown a great deal of vision from deep, he's got a great, accurate  long pass on him and knows how to get a counter attacks going. He looks very calm on the ball and his tackling is superb. The fact he's only 22 is yet another bonus, I really feel he will be top class within the next 3 years or so. The only downside to him is the fact he picks up a lot of bookings, but I'm sure that will calm down with age.

Aston Villa are tracking promising Toulouse winger Franck Tabanou, the player's agent has hinted.
The left winger is well known to Villa Park boss Gerard Houllier after coming through the France youth system and he played for Les Bleus Under 21s in their 3-1 friendly win against Denmark on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old has also been linked with Juventus after impressing for Toulouse this season and his agent said: 'These two clubs (Villa and Juve) are not mentioned by chance - and there are others following him.'

He is under contract till 2013 and Toulouse will want a good fee who, alongside 21-year-old Tottenham target Moussa Sissoko, is considered one of the club's bright hopes for the future.
Tabanou admitted last week that being reunited with former France technical director Houllier was an exciting prospect.
'If this rumour is true, I am proud because Aston Villa have been one of the big English clubs for several years,' said the left-sided player.
'Now I play for Toulouse and don't think about it too much. But it would be a lie to say that this club doesn't interest me. If they make an offer, then we'll see.'

It doesnt matter where they play, if they're going to be top players and we can get them reasonably cheap now, we should.
