Err question.  Did we replace Ian Storey Moore when Houllier came in?
Or is this within Houllier's skill set after his work with the French FA.

Whoever the guy is may give us a clue to what or where our market will be.

According the Oracle that is Wiki...Storey Moore left when MON resigned. I imagine Houlier has his own team for scouting and likes to do a fair bit himself.

The general confirmed that Gerrard will be in charge of his own scouting staff.

Houllier will have massive contacts throughout europe with his FIFA connections.  I think his scouting team will have been very carefully selected. And i feel that because of the over pricing of British and european players he will be looking worldwide to bring in good value quality players to fill the obvious weak links in the team ........

Please be Aston Villa

We might have a few attacking midfield options, but this guy is class and I think we could get him.

One of the papers says that Sulley Muntari could quit Inter, i think he's the type of midfielder we should be looking at, he's an all rounder who can tackle, make play, pass and shoot don't think he's that old with a transfer fee of say £10m he'd be good value. Suprise suprise he's been linked to Spurs.

Possible Carew replacement?

From The Daily Mail

Bolton manager Owen Coyle is to hold talks with Johan Elmander about a new contract, with the striker available on a free transfer at the end of this season.

Always thought he was decent, like Carew, he's bulit like a brick shithouse.

But he played in a nasty Foreign league, we can't have that.

GH has stated he sees A Young as a second striker and not a winger, so I would take Kranjcar or preferably Bentley to interchange with Downing/ Albrighton.

Ireland is as good as Kranjcar and needs to blended in the team. Muntari yes. He is just what we need .....

Or rather, Ireland is much, much better than Krancjar.
But you're right about Muntari. A real box to box player with power. Plus experience in this league. Ideal.

Not for me. He's as inconsistent as Carew. He's not really much of a brick shithouse in my opinion. He's certainly not really adapted to the Prem. Carew probably should go, but said replacement would need to be a lot better than Elmeander. I'd actually rather have Kevin Davies.

Muntari would be a good signing.
