General,

Any chance of delaying the kick off on Sunday by 10 minutes? I finish work at 11pm Sunday night (which will be Noon UK time) and it will take me 10 mins to run down to the pub. Doesn't have to be anything drastic, just hide all the balls or something. I'm happy to phone up Villa Park when I've got to the pub and have a beer in hand so that the game can kick off!

Have you factored in the clocks going back to GMT on Saturday night?

Yeah, we are currently 10 hours ahead, so Sunday lunch you will be 11 hours behind.

Perhaps some traffic congestion preventing all of their coaches arriving for kick off could be arranged.

General Krulak here:

1.  Obviously I cannot discuss the Ashley Young situation on an "open" web site.  We all have learned our lesson about that.  Simply put, the media watches H&V like a hawk and whenever I comment on something like this issue, it is immediately picked up.  With this in mind, I will keep my comments very general in nature.

2.  The Situation.  I  am sure you realize that any Club has very little control over any player once that player decides he wants to go.  This is especially true as the contract nears its end.  ManU and Rooney were a perfect example...Rooney was set to go IF he wanted to go.  AVFC certainly values Ashley Young....he is a fine player and is a fine person in the dressing room.  No one wants to see him go.  At the end of the day, we need to let this all play out and see what happens.

3.  sfx412.  I don't think the Board has lowered expectations at all.  At the same time, we had a tumultuous summer and now have a new Manager and new Coaches.  It is only right that Randy and the Board give them the time and resources to do what they feel they need to do to reach our goals.  Notice I said BOTH time AND resources.  We recognize that we cannot expect an overnight miracle from GH and we also realize that he will need resources to achieve what we all want for our Club.

Pre-order a cab, or make up those extra minutes by skateboard.

General - well done to all concerned for the training event at Villa Park today. Well organised and really enjoyable.

Notable mentions to Stephen Ireland, Ashley Young, Brad Guzan and Nigel Reo Coker for signing autographs and posing for pictures for all of the fans that waited patiently for them...

General Krulak here:

1.  We expect to have over 30,000 people at the Burnley game.

2.  The Family Day was a great success thanks to the energy of the Fans, the hard work of the Staff at Villa Park, the Manager and the Players.  It was a really fun day!!!

Hi General,

I hope you are well.

I just wanted to ask you a question generally on football, without specific references towards Villa.

This week we have seen Wayne Rooney get his contract for a reported £200k per week. This will of course start to have an effect on lesser players who will look for a rise eg 100k pw. This in all likleyhood will have a knock on effect on fans as most clubs will then up their ticket prices and the cycle will start again. As a Director of a football club, do you feel concerned with the fact that it looks like attendances are levelling off/dropping (eg you can get a season ticket for the first time at United in over a decade, there used to be 20,000 people on the waiting list), that this financial ecosystem that football live in will burst?

Or do you think that TV revenues will continue to drive this wage inflation and we will see emptier grounds across the country?

Also do you think that Premier League chairman may look towards having either an official or unofficial wage cap in the future, in order to keep crowds in the ground and keep the Premier League product strong?

Sorry for such an indepth question, but as a man who operates on the inside, i would be interested in your thoughts.

Many thanks

Following on from the kit launch why are the prices quoted excluding VAT when everyone will have to pay the VAT inclusive price so it gives a false impression of a lower price.

Think you will find that overseas purchasers do not pay VAT so need net price. That'll be the excuse anyway.
